FAQ

In general, about a year before is ideal, although the answer will be different for different people! I’ve covered this as best as I can in this blog post

 

All you really need is your beautiful self! It can be useful to wear a strapless bra and to bring a pair of heeled shoes, but neither are essential. Please try to keep make-up to a minimum to help keep the dresses at their best.

A second opinion is vital to help you make such an important decision, but focus on quality over quantity – which ideally means 2 or 3 people at most. Have a read of this blog post to understand why! Please note in line with our Coronvirus safety policy and procedures only two guests will be able to attend in person. Get anyone else ready and waiting for a video call to keep them involved!

I totally understand sorting out childcare can be a real pain, however where possible I would highly recommend leaving any little ones at home. Whilst they may be very excited about your upcoming wedding, it’s typical to find after a while they can become bored and wanting attention, when really all the focus should be on you choosing your dream dress! Although babies in buggies are a little easier, if they start to get uncomfortable or even turn to tears, this will naturally be a distraction for you and you may find yourself rushing or cutting your appointment short. If you do need to bring babies/children then please ensure you at least have another adult with you to help keep them happy and entertained.

Of course! I will never push a bride into committing to a dress when she’s not ready to do so. The only important thing to remember is that because there’s generally only one of each dress in the boutique, if you don’t snap it up then someone else might… so don’t take too long to decide!

If a dress is too big, a seamstress can make a wedding dress smaller by around two sizes, so it can still be adjusted to fit you like a glove! If you love a dress that’s a little too small, there are sometimes ways around this too which we can discuss during your appointment.

Whilst I don’t offer an in house service, I’ll be happy to provide details of experienced local seamstresses for any alterations you may need. Please note alterations are not included in the price of the dress and will need to be paid for separately, directly to your chosen seamstress.

If you find “The One” payment is taken in full and you take your dress home the same day! Payment can be made by cash, debit/credit card (except American Express) or bank transfer.

Townhouse Bridal is a proud stockist of Bianco Evento veils and hoop skirts / petticoats and you’ll also find a selection of belts, bridal jewellery and wedding hair accessories in the boutique. Just like the wedding dresses, bridal accessories can be taken away the same day. Townhouse Bridal is solely dedicated to the bride-to-be and making her look and feel fabulous for her big day, so unfortunately you won’t find any of the above in the boutique. There are some fabulous places who will be able to help however, so please do shop local as well as looking online!
